Photochromic Screens??

So moving on from the thread about Screen tints and how much light can go though them two alternatives come to mind. The First is photochromic glass. That may not got around VOSA though. Secondly I believe its possible to produce glass with a layer that reacts to a current and turns dark or light at will. Now that would give VOSA a problem!!

Glass technology has moved on a tad since then. Welders helmet glass darkens and lightens almost instantaneous now.
