Safe speed for life
Discussion
After putting up with a large quantity of rubbish from Northumberland's "finest", I do believe that I have had enough. They have a website (www.safespeedforlife.com) which is full of the usual rubbish (collision data with no dates etc etc) and you can not e-mail anyone within the pratnership.
It used to be possible to e-mail them a question (the answer to which would be posted on the website, and be totally unrelated to the question) but now they have removed this facility. The last question I asked was about a year ago. Since then there have only been 15 or so questions asked. The only way to ask a question now is to send it in writing. There is no reply - they put the answer on the website or ignore it.
Recently they have been behaving particularly poorly and I'm not surprised they have cut off an easy route of communication. They are currently involved in an IPCC investigation about a crash beside one of their vans. They have just started using small vans. They are enforcing in an area that has a zero accident history and no public concern. The last two times I've seen their vans they have been completely hidden until the the point where they zap you (literally right behind a very large sign).
I have a few questions that I would like to ask them, but can't be arsed to write out three separate letters.
Is there a pension shortfall in the scameraship industry?

Not at present, and can't see it ever happening - if funds get low ,they'll just commission another few collection points.
Didn't the government just authorise another 200? That's after saying "no more cameras" of course.
Yes, they seem to be afraid of awkward questions via e_mail don't they.
They do give this as contact information though:
If you want to write concerning a speeding issue in your local area or require further information about the Safe Speed for Life campaign in general, please write to:

Could that be because it's so easy to send an email that lots of people are likely to send in awkward questions, whereas to use snailmail you need to write or print a letter, find an envelope, buy a stamp and go to a postbox.
Less questions = less awkward questions
