Yes it is legal. I'm assuming you mean normal type studded tyres, eg Gislaved NordFrost 3 as opposed to competition porcupines!

Just looking at the photo should be OK.

The issues relating to appropriate size, construction, weight & speed (haha) rating for the vehicle and the specific use to which they will be put on Her Maj's highway I leave to you to resolve.

I would hazzard a guess that your insurers would not pay out if you had a bump. If they are not the to the vehicle manufacturers reccomendations.

If you damage the road with them, then you can be held liable for that damage.

I wouldnt have thought they'd damage the road, i mean, were only putting a mighty 77 BHP through them, so there is little chance of burnouts!


Anyway, they will only go on every fortnight or so, imbetween times we run road tyres.
