Visible alteration on D/L endorsement.
Discussion
I had a clean license for 30yrs until two speeding tickets in 12 months from a GATSO in Cardiff and a Talivan on approach to New Severn Bridge tolls on M4.
Anyway, I happened to look at the dates next to the hand written endorsements on my driving license the other day, to see how long it'll be they're spent, and I've noticed that the second date has been altered, by the
responsible for writing the details on the license?
How can I verify the correct date?
It occurs to me that it appears that I have altered it
but this is not the case, does anyone know who is responsible for recording the endorsements for the M4 at the location above?
and how I can verify this botch?

you can call DVLC, and they'll tell you all the details quite happily.
It's not uncommon for mr Scam to take your money and write 3 points on your licence without even registering it with DVLC, so you may not have as many points as you think!
Thanks Bryan35.
I'll check, though, IF luck were to be on my side and the DVLC has NOT been informed and I can dodge the flying pigs
would DVLC chase up the missing endorsement? Two options:
Contact DVLA and query points on your Licence. I have a note of the number:
0870 241 1879 (you may well be left listening to musik for some time), or
On your Counterpart recording your sins there is heading ' Convicting Court code' - a four figure number.
Go to:
http://tinyurl.com/mgezm
and from the County of the offence look up the Court for your Code number. C represents Court - relevant is the four fiqures. This should give the name of the Magistrates Court doling out the points. You then go through the Phone Books for that area for the Magistrates Clerks Office of that Court to whom you can address your enquiry.
Depending on what/how the alteration has been made then there could be some serious questions to be asked if produced to BiB so would advise to get that sorted pronto.

Bstards! They make a fortune near those bridge tolls. I wouldn't pi*s on them, well... actually I would.
sorry for lowering the tone, that particular scam makes my blood boil
Thank you DvD for the contact information. First rate advice as usual.
As you say, I could be in for grief if BiB sight the alteration,
even though it is clearly an alteration in the same ink as that used for the rest of the entry.
The annoying thing is, as I was already dis-pleased (read bloody fuming
) on receiving the fine and endorsement I didn't bother to look at the license when it was returned, if I had, then I could have done something about it at the time.

I telephoned the DVLC today and unfortunately they DID have a record of BOTH endorsements.
But at least I was able to confirm the correct date as shown on their system.
They also agreed to put a note on the system to reflect our conversation about the numpty who made the mistake and didn't initial it on my license.
Thanks again DvD.
