it had to happen

Hold on that passport renewal - first off an indicated 60 may have been in reality mid-high 50's, add in the angle of dangle plus an ACPO margin, you could be OK...also your lane might not have been the one 'they' were interested in, and most of all it could have been a coffee break

i was in the middle lane, he was directley above the middle lane, can thay capture dozens of cars at the same time,we were all at the same speed.
i,m pretty proud that ive never been done before and dont want to spoil my claim of being the only person in the country without points
(despite being pinged on a single carriageway at 10mph over a 40 limit by a Talivan!).

I don't think that's how the scamera vans work, is it? They focus on a car, check it's speed, then take a snap. They can't capture dozens at the same time.

I don't know how long it takes to focus on a number plate and get a speed reading - couple of seconds per vehicle? Not sure but I thought this was all recorded on video tape, reveiwed later for NIP issuing.
A scally mate of mine used to just ignore postal prosecutions and said that they mostly never chased them up anyway if ignored.
If they did get stroppy he'd just deny receiving anything through the post and say it got lost in the postal system as none of them were ever sent by recorded post etc, so no actual proof that NIP was actually received. He slammed their 'prosecution by proxy' postal methods.
As they say, proof of posting is not proof of delivery. He used to say that if they wanted to get him, then he'd wait until coppers turned up on his doorstep to arrest him, and then take it from there!
They never did, though, as it would have cost them too much just to chase up a £60 speeding fine.
I reckon you should be ok at that speed as most speedos tend to over-read a bit, especially if you've got worn tyres, as these have an overall smaller wheel diameter and rotate faster for a given road speed, increasing the over-reading error.
Another mate of mine got done in North Wales at 38 in a 30 zone. Had he been doing 37, he'd have got away with it under their guidelines at the time.
So I'm guessing that they won't bother with you unless you were actually doing more than 57 true mph (10% of limit + 2mph using plod's old guidleines).
I got done 2 years ago on an empty country road over the moors in North Wales-doing 71 in a 60 zone in the middle of nowhere with nothing but deserted moorland and the odd sheep behind highly visible fences.
Cunning b*******s we hiding in an unmarked plain van as I got home not even suspecting I'd been clocked. 2 days late this NIP drops through the post and I think 'what's this then', and had to look on a map to find out where they say I'd been caught.
Turns out it was on a long stretch of road where I recall overtaking a 50mph vehicle at 70mph briefly, in a 60mph zone, and then returning safely to 60mph again.
So I got done for overtaking quickly and safely and being on the 'wrong' side of the road for as little time as possible on a long straight stretch of road with perfect visibility, before returning to the legal speed anyway!
So my 10-year clean licence is now corrupted by 3 points, and for what, I ask you?
Pointless, the whole thing. If speeding kills, like that sanctimonious government ad keeps trying to say, then that should mean that every single person that ever got done for speeding should have killed someone, which means that there should have been 1.4 million deaths on the road last year, right?
Well there weren't, so speeding doesn't kill, period. Not paying attention to the road kills, but that's too hard to police and too expensive, so they settle for drivers exceeding the political speed limit with a faceless camera.
Come the revolution...
