Not sure whether to post here or in Biker Banter, but here goes...

Strikes me that police leathers are fairly suited to my own requirements - high quality two piece, in an unostentatious sober black, and probably with decent pockets. Is it possible for the general public to get hold of a set - is there perhaps some kind of police surplus outlet along the lines of army surplus stores?

Ah. Just looked at the BKS website - seems they are the main suppliers for the police. Indeed, top quality stuff. At top quality prices Bang goes my half-formed idea to get a good set of leathers cheap

In my force, they are supplied by Lewis leathers. I don't know where the outlets are though!

What you need to do is go out and get pulled for speeding by a bib on a bike. Then bang him on the head and nick his kit whilst he's out cold. Leave him by the side of the road beside his bike in his undies. Go on, dare you

didn't the cops spec their own heavy duty leathers from bks, then when they received them at the spec they asked for, couldn't move in them and had to get thinner ones made?

MW Leathers are in the tiny road surrounded by Barking Road, Central Park Road and St Martins Ave - although not sure of their exact address and phone number. My wife has a set made to measure - nice chap making a variety of leathers from top racers (he has many stories of Barry Sheene) to the Met. I think we paid in the region of £800 - £900 for made to measure two piece with graphics.

Cheers
