Police, Camera, Action - The Dire Consequences Of Speeding
Discussion
I was just about to start a thread, crock of whatever. I hate these programmes. So he drove on the hatching, no offence there, I often do it! Use the road, that's what it's for.
Sometimes I see some pretty good driving in these police chases, pity they're crims in the first place
but some of them can drive.
Boosted.

I only caught about five minutes before I turned to another channel.
He was telling us about the road he was on being the most dangerous in the UK. The stretch I saw was on a plain but had lot's of blind crests and sharp bends. His commentary suggest that improving the safety would involve "decreasing speed limits and intriducing crash barriers". To me that sounded like raising money for the government and making sure people that can't corner block the road for everyone else instead of ending up in a field.
He went on to be outraged at someone who "overtakes on a blind corner" when I could clearly see from the camera car that the only vehicle coming the other way was still 200 yards away at the point he pulled in. Next someone is "forced off the road" although the picture shows someone pulled in to gateway on a single-track road. Apparently, at some point on this road he'd "accelerated to 80mph" which suggests that the camera car was going a bit over the top when it had to get to 100mph to catch him on the less minor road they'd just left.
These programmes are just a bunch of w
k, made only worse by being presented by convicted drunk drivers.

A potential murderer commenting on the wrong-doings of shoplifters.
Having seen most of these episodes before on Men & Motors (before Chav TV took the slot over on Freeview), the bastard actually seems proud to tell the audience of his conviction. If it was me, I would put a bag over my head. The fact the Law nailed him has to be viewed that they nailed him eventually; how many times had he 'got away with it' before they got him and, therefore, how many times was he driving in an unfit state - a potential murderer?
Programmes such as these are just State-televised justification for turning driving offences into stealth-taxes...
They must think that we zip up at the back...

Old Ali Slophead was convicted after this series was filmed.
It's quite an old programme...
I think he won Tit Of The Year for it....

I've spent the last 20 minutes ranting at the tv... no idea what my neighbours must think ![]()
I understand just how you feel. I used to watch programmes in that series, but I reached the point where I just couldn't stomach any more of the nonsense spouted by that pompous ass of a presenter.
Best wishes all,
Dave.

Only simpletons would be taken in by this bullsh1t and they're beyond hope anyway.
Yes James, I know, but there are a lot of simpletons about, and they make a lot of noise, and unfortunately they get listened to and influence things in ways that are against our interests. Most of them probably don't know what they're talking about but the damage is done all the same. We just have to counter that as best we can.
Best wishes all,
Dave.
Yep, such a crock of cr*p.. Though some of the driving they show is incredible...But I notice that TV shows/the news/and the papers also report "speeding" as the primary reason for a crash rather than such things as the driver was on drugs....
I kind of resent being told about "road safety" by someone who is staring at the camera on the passenger seat rather more than the road ahead, and his speedo............. Does he have a Class A racing license?

The makers of Police, Camera, Action then did the decent thing and sacked him IIRC.
Are the programmes shown recently old ones, or has he been taken on again by a different employer to do a new series?
Best wishes all,
Dave.
I had to help Mr Stuart stop his car running straight out into the middle of a VERY busy main road. He'd stopped to get cash out of the machine on a petrol station forecourt in Four Marks - being an inconsiderate tosser he didn't park in the bays, he stopped right beside the cash machine on the exit ramp onto the road - very steep, very short and at 90deg to the road.
Of course, a minor thing like the handbrake never sprung into his mind, I was walking past to go in to pay for my fuel when the car started rolling.
If it hadn't have been for the innocent people that would have ended up broadsiding it I'd have let the bloody car roll across the road into the opposite wall. Tosser.

They are old ones. He was convicted of drink driving in July 2003 and dropped from Police, Camera, Action immediately after. Here's a link to the story, along with a picture that makes you want to hit him in the face with a hammer.
