I've just got a snotty reminder basically telling me that I have not replied within the 28 days allowed to a NIP regarding a 'caught on camera' speeding offence.
Well it's now some 8 weeks since the alleged offence and this is the 1st communication I've had from the 'milk the cash cow' department.
As the police have only 14 (or is it 21) days to notify me, have they missed the time window to proceed with the case?
They will probably insist they posted it, and they may well have, but where's the proof?
I've not had it, and surely the responsibility is with them to ensure I got the damn thing in the first place?
I'm sure that if I wrote back and said I had posted the original back to them the day I theoretically recieved it, and it must have been lost in the post, they would say tough poo mate, and nick me.
They can't have it both ways, surely. Well I suppose they can, stupid me!

I'd deny receipt of it.
Of course this could be a cunning new tactic to serve late nips.
The bastards still send them out well after the 14 days and wonder why popularity is at an all time low, of course its propably not the police who do this, but some back room civilian. Still its the police who get blamed.
