On back of bus

"There will only be one of these"

(picture of camera)

"where there have been these"

(Four tombstones with RIP on them)

Yeah right - what about new roads with (obviously)no accidents

Something to complain to the ASA about?

The other favourite of mine is

"Crashes don't care where they happen....

But we do (picture of gatso)"

WTF

....time for my tablets I think.....

Someone who can remember may be along soon, but wasnt a complaint about these upheld by the ASA already?

Think so too (and that book sent out by Greater Manchester force).

Another example would go to show they are making a habit of it, and think themselves above the law - GO FOR IT!

I complained to the ASA about an Avon and Somerset one a while back.

It basically said "which would you rahter see... this? (scamera) ...or this? (flowers by side of road).

I complained, can't prove scamera would prevent deaths, etc. Complaint not upheld, citing links between cameras and reduction in casualties (the ASA probably can't understand regression to the mean).

No right to appeal, so that was that.

You are correct - back in December

Ashes, I assume this was a recent sighting, as according to the responce on the ASA site this poster should no longer be in use.

I saw it recently - my complaint about it still being shown is on its way to the ASA. Only problem is that I can't quote a date and time it was spotted, but certainly within the last couple of months on the back of a bus, so I have said I saw it in May 2006.

I saw one 2 weeks ago on the back of a bus in Halifax.......

They'll probably use the excuse that "We haven't asked them to put it on since the ruling. It must be an old one they haven't taken off yet. It's the bus company's fault, not ours..."

The advertiser should be ulitimately responsbible for ensuring the adverts are removed, and may well be.

If it were up to me, Mr. Gwynne would have been at the bus depot with a paint scraper first thing the next morning.

I think the ASA have the authority to tell them to remove the adverts and impose penalties for not doing so - obviously can't apply to magazines, but I am sure it does for posters etc.

for "West Yorkckshire" read "West Ridng" as that is the correct County to start with!, there is no such County as West Yorkshire!, Legal Eagles Plese note
