carry your docs with you

practise your honesty face
repeat after me

'officer I want to be just like you when I grow up'
'And I'm on my way to half-wits right now as a matter of fact
to buy screws to fix on my missing front number plate
which I happen to have found on the floor of the car park this morning'

They claim you removed the plate to avoid detection by ANPR's and speed camera's.

ANPR's are to check if your legit, IE roadworthy, so you could prove that with insurance, MOT and tax documents . . . . .

I am told it is only a £30 fine, but if you have a plate and "fiddle" with it it's 3 points and up to a £1,000 fine. Work that out if you can. I've yet to be pulled up, but carry it in the car as it's just fallen off. You can see the bracket under the light cluster. I am told even having it there is incorrect and would incurr above mentioned fine as it should be fixed at the front under the nose.

Assuming you removed it and admitted it was to deceive . FFS they can't seem to get convictions someone doing some serious crime nowdays, let alone a muppet whos doesn't have a front number plate. If I was persued for that one, me thinks it'll be on the front page of the Sun before the inks dry, more great PR for our wonderful system, not.
Besides I understood failure to display a front number plate was a 30 squid fine, about half that of a fpn and zero points to boot, no contest.

Strange that I often see high performance cars with number plate on dashboard instead of front bumper.

Hmmm. Wonder why that is ?

No front plate since Jan this, have followed, seen & even pulled up in front of Trafpol's never had an issue. Did get spotted by a panda car plod at the motorway services & he asked where it was.

I said it fell off the front when I skimmed the wall at Rockingham at 100 mph, he just said oh, spose you better get a new one then

I've also been told by a trafpol friend thats its not worth dealing with due to the excessive paperwork, in which case just wave & smile.
