I was a passanger in a car the other day and parked in a car park in Plymouth with another friend parking adjacent.

On the near side of car "a", there was a 4x4, on the near side of car "b" was car "a".
Car "a" was about 30mm over the white line encrouching onto car "b"'s space knowing full well that there was no passanger.

All three of us returned about 10 minutes later to find a PN on the windscreen of car "a". After looking for the signs etc as mentioned in www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=286092&f=10&h=0 there are indeed small signs stating that by parking you accept the T&C's blah blah, a copy of which is available at blah blah.

The car park is free for patrons and "enforced" by an outside agency.

The fine is only £30 but surely this can be argued with correspondence?

Unless you can prove the bays are not of the size mentioned in TSGD and therefore an argument that the bays are illegally marked then it looks as if 30 notes are leaving.

You will find that one of the conditions are that you park soley in one bay and do not encroach into another or on the line.

Although if it is a question of paying to park as some one has done is to pay for two bays and park across. Not sure of they would wear this but yoiu never know.
