Hi all does anyone one know if there is any way you can check to see if you have been niped my a mobil speed trap before you get the NIP in the post . ?
I think I may have been had by one It was a mobil one in the back of the van I was doing about 34 or 35 in a 30 zone . can any one tell me , is it worth opting to go to court if the NIP comes through as would of been such a small amount over the limit . do you think its lightly the court would throw it out and no further action would be taken ?? or is it better to just pay up and accept the points if one does come though the post .
any info would be helpfull many thanks

At those speeds I very very much doubt you'll get anything through the post. If you do, go to www.pepipoo.com
Hi many thanks for link thats great I will have a look . The mobil unit was at Rooks bridge in somerset on the A38 just towards the end of the 30 zone just where you least expect it .there used to be a fixed one but a person in a landrover pulled it down and did away with it . now the mobil units come instead .The trap was in the back of a van with the yellow stripes on it but no other markings. I was on top of it before realising what it was .
another good link:

ACPO guidelines recommend prosecution at 10% + 2mph over the limit (meaning you'd get done for 35 in a 30 but not 34, 68 in a 60 but not 67 etc.) but this is up to the individual police forces discretion, some are more lenient than others
"normal" uncalibrated speedometers are either accurate or read too high, some cars are very accurate at low speeds and at high speeds they drift so this is something to be aware of, if you have a sat-nav device they sometimes have an option for gps speed - this will give you a more accurate measurement of your current speed, sometimes the difference between what a speedometer says and what your "tomtom" says is markedly different!

Rule of thumb always expect van to be on bridge near speed limit change as this ist where they rake in mostest cash und where it provide some proof ist not to do with road safety

Must have been a lucrative fixed one then..
I think you may just be OK at the speed you say speedo say. I would buy a useful gadget. If you update weekly - they programme the timetabled und known scam van hotspots to give an earlier warning to check und adjust the "crept up und not noticed" blips
ALternatively - go on a track day und spend pleasant day learning to feeeeeel the speed Liebchen.
