A TWIST ON WHY BIB POST HERE
Discussion
ok- i missed out on the post. Perhaps a good thing ,as in the nine years in my present location , i have seen the BIB do things to help decent folk, i thought was impossible - i have seen a beat officer in a bad area organise a skip, and on his day off, organise volanteers to go round empty houses and drag junk out , This meant that anything dumped in the rear of empty properties could be checked out as stolen - bikes/motorbikes/tv etc etc.I have seen trafpols check out reports of possibles --bikes/cars etc. They ask for little info from a comunity, but protect their sources and given a little trust, do a lot to tyr and help those who would like a little help, and are prepared to help the police.
I have sat on executive comitees of Neighbourhood watch - believe me - as a NH watch person , the police have an easy job - at least they can go home at night - i have to live in the area.
Stop slanging our cops -- most do a great job - i think the phrase is "above and beyond the call of duty"
So Mungo , AND THE REST - read this as praise - i don't want Blunkets plastic cops (PCSO) OR HIS OTHER MOTORWAY VERSION - HATO - i want POLICE ,WITH THE LOGO ON THEIR JACKETS "PCXX" - NOT PCSO "PLONKER"

I think you miss the point with the HATO's though. They are not for enforcement of traffic and are not to catch you speeding. They are there to help and assist the unfortunate people who break down or to clear up after an accident. From what I have heard, they provide geniune assistance and help for those who need it the most - normally people at the side of a motorway.
Do you really want the Police dedicating their time to cleaning up the broken glass on the road or do you want them chasing criminals?
