More Scameras for East Renfrewshire Council?
Discussion
Just read in the local rag that East Renfrewshire Council are about to join the cash for scameras scheme. (netting off)
However East Ren are in Strathclyde region which are already in the scheme. So whats going on? Do individual councils have to apply to join to get their share of the cash?
At any rate we can look forward to more cameras which doesn't really please me. I have a policy on speed cameras but have so far not had any reason to put it into practice. I'm usually quite careful and I know where the cameras are. If new ones spring up like weeds then I could be caught out.
Oh well. Time for plan B

Yes. Not all opted in first time round. Those now opting in can reclaim all ancillary costs in operating the scheme from the proceeds e.g. extra staff, new computers, etc before the rest of the money is divided up. Unofficial figures within the region suggest each council can gain upto £60,000 p.a. with the correct location of their cameras. The system is now proven to work, so everybody's joining.
Better dust down plan B
