Didnt you post this last night?
Quick pointer. You know how, in America, when you cross the county line in the General Lee, Roscoe has to give up and wave cheerily while you scream off into the sunset. Its not like that on the M1
You WILL get the follow up paperwork, you WILL get the points, so prepare for it.

Have to agree with RM, with camera's there is a couple of things that in your case would be worth the risk trying (like can't remember who was driving). However as you were pulled there is pretty much zero chance of this and it will not just "go away"; if it is worth it to you financially it may well be worth a meeting with one of the hotshot legal types who may be able to get you off on a technicality if procedure has not been followed. Up to you but don't just forget about it and sweep it under the carpet.
Edited to add: beaten to it with the Legal stuff rec and was trying to think of Nick Freeman's name.

Hi There
It's not looking good is it? Presumably you've already got between 9 and 11 points, so what on earth were you doing traveling at 90+ on the M1. You got stopped and pulled over so it's no good trying to pin the blame on the wife or girlfriend, plods already I'd'ed you.
Your geography's not that good either, pulled near Northamptonshire, ticket from Nottinghamshire, several counties in between and whilst it's possible, it's unlikely a Notts car pulls you in Northants.
It's not going to go away and you're going to have to get your facts or story a bit clearer.

The blues n twos went on in Northamptonshire, but by the time he's slowed to a stop, he'd hit Nottinghamshire.

Its just a damn shame that the 'county line' does not have a river with a broken bridge over it.
That would have shaken them. I have seen on TV that when police cars try to jump the river they end up diving nose first into the mud to much hilarity.

ive got a bot of a bad dilemma here, basiclly i live in london & i had to travel to leeds yesterday (visit family) so i took the M1 straight there, i was pulled over somwer near northamptonshire (about 80 miles away from london) the police officer informed me that i was doing 93.2 MPH i then told him that i was overtaking plus i wasnt the only one traveling at that speed but as i expected he wasnt having any of it! anyway he issued me with a fixed penalty notice £60 + 3 points, which i would gladly accept but you see the problem is i cant have the points on my licence as ive already got a fair amount, anymore and im f***ed! The ticket was issued by nottinghamshire police a different police department to what we have here in london (metropolitan police) so if i was to just 'forget' about the whole situation ever happening what do you think the chances of it coming back to haunt me later are...

Chance of it coming back to haunt you is 99%.
It may take anything up to 6 months to get a summons IF you pleaded not guilty.
However, if he has issued you with the fixed penalty already it does sound as if you have not only admitted that you were speeding from what you have said, but you have also accepted the punishment.
Be aware that the three points offer is a one chance only offer. If you go to court and you lose you will get more than 3 points, most likely 5.
What is important is whether you have accepted or rejected the fixed penalty yet, and exactly how many points you have. If you have less than 9 you would be most foolish to reject the 3 points.
What also goes against you is that from what you have told the officer, possibly under caution, that you have admitted speeding and have offered two seperate mitigating circumstances which is a fact or which will be difficult to go back on in court if you have to give evidence.
Did you show any identification (important)?
Roald Dahl
penned a 'Tales of the unexpected' once where
a tinker hitched a lift with
(another) speed freak,
and egged him on until he was similary apprehended, although the tinker passenger lifted the policemans
notebook off him before they left
thus avoiding prosecution,
Did you have a tinker with you ?
if not, this probably won't help much
move the seat back a notch in future.
sorry

Any idea what speed you were doing through the SPECS areas? (Assuming they're still there.) There might be more shocks in the post - Streaky
The SPECS between Luton and the M25 are still there, drove through them on Saturday and Sunday. So busy I don't think you could possibly speed...

SPECS...................?????
SPECS Speed Cameras
SPECS system's utilise state of the art video system with Automatic Number Plate Reading (ANPR) digital technology. Consisting of a minimum of two cameras each fitted with infra red illuminators fitted on gantries above the road. These cameras work out the vehicles average speed, given the time it took to drive between the two camera positions.
SPECS are fitted either at the roadside or central reservation a set distance apart to create a speed controlled zone, or where appropriate, groups of cameras can be linked to create a speed controlled network.
As vehicles pass between the entry and exit camera points their number plates are digitally recorded, whether speeding or not. Then, by ANPR recognition, the images on the video of matching number plates are paired up, and because each image carries a date and time stamp, the computer can then work out your average speed between the cameras. There is no film used for SPECS.
SPECS is currently in use in permanent sites in Nottingham, Gloucester and Northamptonshire and in temporary locations in Cheshire, Kent, West Midlands, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. Many more speed control zones are planned in the UK.
Quote from the manufactures of SPECS system. "The SPECS system is so efficient and user friendly that Manchester CTO processed 2,500 offences in 6 man-hours".
Points and Penalties
Being prosecuted in the UK by a SPECS speed/safety camera system can result in a minimum of 3 penalty points and a Ј60 fine. This fine amount is currently under review by the government and may increase in near future.
cheers
