Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah!
Discussion
American motorists, the subject of much derision on this forum (and generally deserved, I may add), have nevertheless recently triumphed in my little corner of this ridiculous country. Evidently the Massachusetts State Police has found it uneconomic to patrol Interstate 190 between Worcester and Fitchburg, Massachusetts during a time of general belt-tightening and so the road will be deregulated, with call boxes placed every 1200 yards and behind guardrails.
What this means for me is that when I leave my house I have a ten-minute drive to an absolutely perfect free high-speed test facility. The hills aren't steep and the curves have radii of between one and two miles. Traffic is light (300 cars/hour with three lanes in either direction); I have an average 36 second headway between me and the next car.
Evidently Big Rock Candy Mountain exists.
