Last week I *THINK* I was caught doing 35 in a 30. The officer was NOT wearing his florescent coat.
So how long do I have to wait for a speeding fine to arrive in the post?
Oh and the daftest thing is I have just put a radar/laser detector in the car and it was going NUTS!!

Sods law eh.

14 days if youve not changed your address with the DVLA in the last 3 months (I think).

If it does arrive www.pepipoo.co.uk is your friend.

Good luck

BTW: if it was 35 on your analogue Speedo then a) they take time to settle to the correct speed and b) they over read (mine over reads by 3mph at 30mph). So if that’s the case they you were probably doing 32mph and I really would love to see them issue that. The anti scamera brigade would have a field day!

had a case like that at work lately. ticket came through for a coach doing 61mph in a 70mph zone. we did chuckle seeing as we're required to have limiters set to 62.4mph so how can 61mph be illegal?
they wrote & asked this, no answer so it went to court. thrown out & police/CPS? (dunno which) where warned for wasting time. we didnt laugh too much when we heard the result.

I've had many a coach fly past me in the outside lane on the motorway when I've been doing 70ish in the middle lane. I've even seen one driver on his mobile at the time eek

The older ones don't have limiters. My FIL prefers the G reg banger, as all the new buses are restricted to 27mph, and coaches to 62 eek

Buses restricted to 27? How are the drivers going to kill people and get the OAPs falling onto the floor if they can only do 27??

OTOH, I don't think the old Routemasters generally did much more. So much for progress. It won't be long before a 70s classic car is fast enough for modern policing conditions and we can go back to tootling around at 40-50 like my Dad in his old Hillman Minx. Not that you'd go very far, but perhaps this is part of the plan to get people back onto the railways. Ah, the 90s -- the last golden age of motoring....
