Driving round London I've noticed a new type of camera - can someone enlighten me as to what they are? They aren't gatso's, truvelos or specs cameras - but look a bit like a miniature Gatso with a slightly angled housing, set much higher than normal. I presume they're some sort of speed camera, but are they digital so never run out of film, or just another type of Gatso, so often empty? There's one on the Old Ford exit off the A102 after the Blackwall Tunnel, just at dangerous pull off where sometimes you need to accelerate to safely get across. Typically thoughtful positioning to cause, not prevent, an accident really!

They're the new type of Link Cash Machine, they issue special Vaseline coated rubber gloves before removing ££'s from your wallet directly via your backside, as you pass them by.

OK - are they like gatsos in that they might not have a camera in them? Or are they always live? And do they do red lights as well?

They are always live and digitally store their photos which can be downloaded directly via a broadband line to the command centre where they issue the fines. It requires less work by the partnership which is why London have started using them. It'd be interesting to find out how many they now have as in the last press article I saw they said they were aiming for 66 by the end of the year or by next year can't remember exactly.

www.redspeed-int.com/en/products_redspeed.htm

Redspeed cams are capable of detecting speed and/or red lights violations.
They are digital.
They use pressure sensors for speed measurement and inductive loops for red light violations.

If they rob that badly, will the b*st*rds take an extra £1.75 for the pleasure on top of the usual amount?!

There is only one important question:

"How well do they burn?"

Ja.. we have these in Cumbria.. Never been accident at the site - espcially where located in Ings - the accidents which did occur und which Steviebabes uses to justify the scams - were down to guy falling asleep at wheel und one having heart attack at the wheel und one other illness in car. All reported in local Gazette und verified by local hospital to their reporter.

Ironically - in the days of the talivan at this site.. more villagers got pinged than tourists! rolleyes Und it still happens...the road ist perfectly safe at 50 mph und ist a very short stretch between two NSL sections as well. Ist rather lucrative rolleyes
