Hi..sorry if this has been covered before, but I'd greatly appreciate some advice.

My big bro got pulled on the M5 yesterday by the plod. They reckong they'd caught him with a speed gun doing 97mph, followed and then stopped him.

He seriously disputes doing that speed and they have no video evidence. He actually reckons they spotted someone else with the gun and caught him instead (he's driving a generic rep mobile).

£60 fine and 3 points. Where does he stand about contesting it?

He's pretty straight up and I believe him about his speed.

If he's sure they don't have any other evidence and he was not doing that speed then tell him to fight it.

I'm no expert, but giving him £60 and 3 points when he was 3 mph away from a ban seems unusually lenient unless he was very polite and apologetic.

Was he speeding at all? If so, he's probably best off just taking the points...

Whereabouts on M5, someone I know got pulled on M5 for 92, but disputed speed. They took the easy option and took the fine and points, however, they still say they were travelling closer to 75-80mph, as cruise control was on at the time.
