Well you can tell its the start of the month as Thames Valley finest were busy hiding their van on a bridge on the Wendover bypass.

It was well and truely hidden with just the van windows poking over the top of the bridge wall scamming everything in sight!

A real contribution to road safety! (not!)

Are there a lot of accidents on the Wendover bypass ? It's always looked pretty safe to me: Very wide and very straight.

Got pinged there at 100mph twenty eight months ago. It's the reason I found Pistonheads. They sit there purely becaause it is the first opportunity to pass some bimbling berk doing 40mph you will have had since Great Missenden some five miles back. So you overtake on a nice wide straight bit of road with good visibility and minimise your time exposed to danger with a bit of gas so they nick ya.

I have found a nice twisty back way instead past a few schools, hospitals and old peoples homes. You have to overtake on the double white line sections and zebra crossings but you can still make some progress and not get nabbed as long as you keep your wits about you. As there's no fuzz round there either I decided not to bother with the now exorbitant insurance, MOT and Tax this year either.

Before anyone gets over excited, the second para is sarcastic. Fortunately, I never received a summons so somehow I got away with it. Hoorah.

So would this be the Aylesbury scam van then?

Anyone seen them working weekends like they do down in High Wycombe? (Sunday AM up Marlow Hill catching housewives on the way to John Lewis in their X5s is very lucrative).

A friend dad's friend (got that) got pinged at 125 down there and got a 6 month ban.

There has been a few accidents down there but that is down to people thinking the carriageway is wider than it is or overtaking around the long sweeping bend

That is a hugely sweeping generalisation. Some of them are in Range Rovers.

This van is often seen on the giratory system catching people going down towards the blue leany building. Sneaky!

Also can often be found near the Gas works/honda garage

I can understand that. The trouble is it is wide enough to tempt you out before you can really see as with cooperation you can get two cars side by side without straying into the other lane. Problems probably arise when such cooperation is not forthcoming or is relied upon.

Bad road design then innit.

Sorry, less generalisation ... how about "Black X5s with private plates" hehe

Exactly, ideally they should have made it a dual carriageway but its up to the job most of the time. Whats more annoying is they've just reduced the speed limit between the bypass and terrick down to 50mph on the long straight and 40 on the curves.

Shame really as that was a lovely bit of road!
