Last Friday afternoon they were collecting tax from a van parked nearish to the pet crematorium* from eastbound travellers.

Parked in a layby on the left, quite conspicuous but end on the van wasn't that obvious.

I was tempted to pull into the layby right in their line of vision to take an important telephone call. Would I have been committing a crime or could I just keep the window rolled up?

edited to add: That's heading towards Duxford from Royston.

A505, Is that a road where they tend to accidentally catch fire quite easily.

There used to be one on a straight bit going west near Duxford but that's gone. Another one again near Duxford westbound has had a red bag over it for ages. Also the westbound one just before the new Baldock bypass has no graduation lines and doesn't seem to flash, and I think looks like it has a bush growing in front of it. The one near the Shell garage westbound looks active though.

There's only really one eastbound camera now on the hilly twisty bit of dc with junctions just before a garage. With people wrecklessly pulling out of there causing accidents, I would tend to have slowed right down to 70-ish anyhow by there so it's not a big deal and probably doesn't make much money.
