101MPH on a DC.

Pulled over.

3 points and 60 quid, sir?

I'll take 3 points please. *tries hard not to look grateful*

Must say, there was no sarcasm or preaching from the BiB who snagged me. Kudos.

It's a fair cop, etc.

I have to say, that was a bloody good result. I would have been chuffed to bits with that.

I don't know that "chuffed" is exactly the right word, but yes. Good result.

That's not a bad result whichever way you look at it. Marked or unmarked? Road conditions? Familiar with the road?

Marked car on overbridge.

Road conditions pretty much ideal - clear, dry, sunny.

I'm very familiar with the road.

I suspect the facts that:

* I was well within the car's capabilities (and it's in good order)
* The road conditions were perfect
* I was suitably penitent and non-cheeky
* I pulled over at the earliest available opportunity in a safe place
* I did everything I was told

disposed the officer to take the most lenient course of action available.

Sounds like the correct result IMO. A ban would have been way over the top (though applicable in law) whereas this is a reminder to behave yourself and watch those hiding places.

If I was caught @101 I would take the three points without hesitation and smile politely.

Exactly. That's my reaction.

Hard luck CJ, but if you're happy I suppose that's something.

I met a guy on the road this afternoon that was more worthy of TrafPol attention. I'm not bothered about him doing 95 in the wet, that was OK, but within about ten miles he did two dodgy overtakes and another one that was somewhat questionable, and that's the sort of thing that needs dealing with.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Oh dear..the old favourite Congratulations on the "result" though. It could have been a lot worse.

Now, should i tell you about the Cleveland Scamera van i followed today, doing 45 in a 40, changing lanes without indicating and generally driving like a tw@t...Sometimes i really wish i had video recording kit in the car.

Ive just seen the light.

Now I get this 'We hate cameras' argument.

More Trafpol more common sense more 'Look these are all the factors'.

Converted.

Oh just one thing 101mph. You know the limit is 70mph Bit naughty.

I'm more of a fan a applying a fine in relation to your earnings.

No dust or fur just a question - what has pinkoist redistribution of wealth got to do with justice?

Do the crime, do the time. Same crime, same time.

Why favour the idle wretch over the idle rich like that? Get s stop on benefits, and some patience, they'll pay it in the end.

Just extorting money for no good reason.

Enforcing that law in those circumstances isno good reason.

No, it's highway robbery by an oppressive state.

Get angry, get it fixed.

Ditto.

Doesn't make the oppressive extortion right though.
