I commute to work every day via Westbourne Terrace (ie. leave the A40 at the Paddington junction and go straight towards Bayswater). For the last 6-8 weeks, every morning I see cars pulled over on Westbourne Terrace being given tickets (a silver Merc this morning).

I'm just curious as to what they are being pulled over for. There's a set of traffic lights as you come off the A40 and another two/three sets on Westbourne Terrace itself. There's always lots of traffic as well so can't imagine people have space to go over the speed limit. If so, it just looks a bit of a silly place to do people for speeding..??

Is this maybe people speeding on the A40 and getting pulled over on Westbourne Terrace as they leave the A40?? People jumping the first set of traffic lights??

Just curious as the same happens every morning

Ooh- that's just off my daily commute - might run round that way tomorrow to see what the fuss is about.

Green arrows on traffic lights are another example of how many motorists have little idea (and poor observation) of the meaning of traffic signs.

There are a number of junctions I use from time to time that have right turns controlled by green arrows and some very similarly designed that have no right turn green arrow. I have seen vehicles ignore the green arrow (i.e. turn against the light) and then at the next junction wait for a non-existent green arrow (i.e. there are only three lamps on the pole!) and vice versa.
