Holy druids batman. From today's press:

The Daily Telegtaph said:
A police force criticised for its supposed liberal stance on drugs was yesterday accused of ordering officers to stop logging intelligence about drug dealers because they had already hit the annual arrests target. HM Inspectorate of Constabulary claimed that two divisions within North Wales Police were "instructed" not to enter information on the force computer as further arrests would lead to a higher target the following year.

How about nicking fewer safe speeders so next yuear's target goes down?

Yeah, I saw that yesterday.

But did it mention it was Chief Constable BrainDead who kept getting nicked with the stash, or his live in lover!??!

To be honest it is understandable, whenever you start using targets you are bound to get this type of reaction, the bloke is only trying to protect his job. Perhaps the government should reconsider the way it uses the stats.

Agreed but since drug habits give rise to high levels of burglary and muggings, why engineer a lower target there? Go for a higher one as deliberate policy, and instead reduce the number of speeding tickets to get THAT target reduced We know it makes sense, how come Brunstrom doesn't?

OK I know the answer already ...
