I got in yesterday at about 5 to find somebody had parked in one of my parking spaces and behind my Tiv blocking it in. I left a polite notice on the windscreen but the f'er is still there. Due to the weather the Tiv won't be moving today but got somebody coming round later who always parks there due to lack of other spaces.

So what's the next move, I was thinking of trolley jacking the rear up and moving it somewhere else. I know the obvious answer is to knock on everyone elses door to see who owns it but really can't be arsed with somebody who is obviously as ignorant as fluck.

Are there any parking restrictions in the area? If not then they are just being ignorant, but not breaking any laws. It's not against the law to be an ignorant wcensoredk, (just as well as I'm sure we could all think of a few people who would fall foul of that!!!). How about gluing a large notice to the windscreen with wallpaper paste. Won't be permanent so no vanalism, but if it doesn't rain, it'll need soaking with water to remove it, which should be a bit of a pan for them. As far as jacking it up is concerned, good idea as long as you do not damage the vehicle moving it, and it's not been left in gear(for front wheel drive!). If it would move by just jacking up one end of the car, know anyone with a towing dolley? Would be a bit more stable to move it.

The parking spaces are owned by me but there are no signs up. I'm off out for the day soon but I'll be hacked off of I get back and it's still there.

Right, that makes a big difference, if the vehicle is parked on your private property, without your permission, then move it. As long as you do not damage the vehicle in the process I can't see the problem (BiB please advise). And for your own sake get some signs up! I for one will park anywhere that looks like a parking space, (being careful not to block anyone in of course!!), but not if there are signs advising me not to.

Thanks andmole for the reply and suggestions. I totally agree with your parking anywhere not clearly signed hence the polite letter to the owner letting them know. I don't generally get any problems and have not put any signs up as generally people know the situation and let guests know. I think it was the fact that they'd blocked my car in and parked so close to the rear of my P&J that got me. Anyway it's gone now so hopefully they got the message.

cheers
