Dammit, after 18 years on the road, I've just been flashed for the first time. Slight moment's inattention w.r.t. the old speedo while accelerating back up to speed after some numpty pulled over into lane 1, and I wafted through an A14 speed cameara with 80 on the clock. Which probably corresponds to about 75 or 76 judging from the satnav's view of the world. Which makes me wonder if this camera's been set on something of a hair trigger.

Ah well; 14 days to find out, isn't it? I'm guessing I'm looking at 60 drinking vouchers and an excuse to get a new style license?

And I'll say it again: cack!

Sorry to hear that.

Hopefully you won't have a tax collection form on your welcome mat....

Me too. Still, I do quite fancy one of those spangly photocard driving licenses. Last time I hired a car in the states, the lady at the desk took one look at my dog-eared paper license and insisted in sellotaping it back together...

who me ?

Don't forget that a new sparkling licence costs 19 pieces with herr tone's head on it ( unless of course you move house now and in 6 month's time).

When did our truth-shy "leader" ascend to the monarchy?

Was it pub talk, but I heard an anecdote of a man, who, when he recieved his NIP and piccy he sent a picture of £60 back?

You would think that if they were going to charge you £60 for a picture of your car that they would let you wash it first!
And choose the backdrop...

Let us know how you get on - your speed is likely to fall within the ACPO guidelines for a 70 limit - normally you will be prosecuted for 79 or above.

I'm not aware of a (nearer) zero-tolerance policy being adopted yet even with the new 'Road Safety' Bill (note use of quotes), but we all need to know if this does start to happen.

Best of luck, anyway.

Which camera on the A14?
Own up, 'cause they're all obvious.

Lolworth/Swavesey Services. I've only driven past it (twice!) nearly every day since, oh, it was put up. Which pre-dates the ones they air-dropped on the stretch from here (Swavesey) to Huntingdon by some time. Kick myself? I surely did.

I blame the jag: 30 leptons? Whisper quiet. More leptons than I'm allowed on the A14? Pretty much whisper quiet. As someone commented elsewhere: at least in a TVR you *know* when you're motoring...
