Any fixed cameras on A12?

Drove up from M25 to Ipswich this weekend - once at my Dad's he told me there were some fixed cameras on blue poles on the A12. Don't sound like cameras to me.

But Dad swears his sister in law was caught by such a camera (sounds like talivan to me...)

So are there any cameras on that road? Tomtom doesn't think so...

They sound like Trafficmaster cameras...unless the cameras are more like CCTV and possible yellow? In which case...could be SPECS.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any fixed cameras on the A12 once you get outside the M25 at least as far as Ipswich. The last one I can think of going east is the one immediately before the flyover at Gallows corner.

I drove up that way last week and didn't notice any, and there were certainly no SPECS installations. There are loads of those Trafficmaster things about though.

Nothing permanent between the M25 and Ipswich, however there are usually unmarked cars and ANPR operating and sometimes Talivans on bridges.

I've never seen any Talivan on the bridges down the A12?

There have been Talivans around Witham and my TomTom tells me a of site around Chelmsford. I'm not aware of any fixed ones between Gallows Corner and Colcheter

There is a very new shiny silver 5 series BMW which followed me at about 1.30am on a virtually empty A12 a few months back and flashed the POLICE red sign in the rear window so you have to be aware.

Ah ha......you've missed one! Over the roundabout, after the second set of lights, there's one in the trees in the 50 limit.
But, you're right...I can't think of any oputside the M25.

That is often out and about patrolling around the Chelmsford area, see it a few times at night having pulled people over. Has followed me a few times down the 130 (assuming) hoping I push it.

The other ones to watch out for are the Intercept Evos

Then you aren't paying attention!

They definitely park up on the bridges between Chelmsford and Witham, maybe on other stretches too. Seen them on many occasions.

Gatsos are common when roadworks are in place, which is quite often!

I never go as far as Witham, just go between M25 and Hatfield Peveral turn off - and never had a problem in years of doing it.
