I would keep quiet!

Did she go to court on 12?

The only thing I can think is that if she pleaded mitigation she escaped a ban and the court made a mistake and sent off the documentation to take the 12 points off - then she would be on 9 at the moment.

It does happen. I was convicted with an SP30 and then at appeal I lost and it was mistakenly put on as an SP60.

I though that the CPS had 6 months to lay papers before the court.

The other thing that some of the first points may have already expired?

Morality of the issue aside, give her a slap and point out how difficult things *will* become *when* she gets a ban, unless she curtails her need for speed.

And buy a road angel (or similar).

Whether you think it or not, to get that many tickets she is driving like a maniac...she obviously doesn't want to drive any more!!!

Send her here:

or

Jeez, whilst a lot of us like a bit of speed, I think we all generally look out for cameras, BiB etc to avoid pts...to get SO many SO quickly is pretty damned reckless.

Buy her a Road Angel as suggested above for when she gets her licence back and make her a little more aware of her actions!

To get done is unlucky, a few times careless?, hell getting caught (once) at 140 on a clear MWay is in my book forgivable, but getting 21 points in 18 months...should she be driving if she's not looking where she is going?

Contrary to popular belief, points do not make prizes!

Sorry slow in adding last post, so missed your last one

Not being funny, but it is usually relatively obvious when speed limits change. Where is she looking if not at the road or road signs. Does she actually look out for cameras?

How has she been caught, BiB or Camera

To be honest, I think she should be taking a close look at her driving before she worries about other things...signs are not THAT hard to miss...not that many times anyway.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I have seen so much 'careless driving' recently I begin to wonder how some people get and then keep their licence!

Hope she starts to concentrate a bit more soon. Obviously the court apprarance did no good!

That's my understanding too. However I don't believe there is a timelimit on when the summons is then issued...

pretty much think this is the right advice.

As far as the second guessers go I would just ignore them. I don't see multiple small infringements to be any different to one large infringement. It all comes down to whether appropriate for the conditions or not.

The sad fact about the speed penalty system in this country is that the more you are required to drive for work, the more likely you are to have speeding points.

No Offence, but I would buy her

a) a nice new pair of glasses
b) a nice day with Ride Drive.

If she is that incompetent that she cannot spot so many things she is a danger to herself and others on the road.

Thought you might take offence.

But then, the way she is going she will get banned for a VERY long time indeed if she doesn't improve. SO I actually thought they were quite good ideas. Improve her driving, before she kills someone or goes to jail.

........... It not so much the speed but lack of attention of local speed changes e.g 50mph down to 30mph ...............

Does she need glasses ? seriously ,if she cant see road signs & speed cameras what can she see ?,a friend of my mrs's eyes were so bad she could hardly read motorway signs , but still insisted she didn't need glasses which she clearly did.
If she doesnt need glasses she must be so inattentive to be actually dangerous on the roads , so maybe a ban would be a good thing.

I don't know the legal issues but when I had to make a court appearance it was 7 months from being 'nicked' may be different though with NIP style tickets.

And 3 points of mine did expire between being nicked & seeing the Mags.

You never know they might have lost the paperwork - but I doubt it.........

Do either of you drive 3000 miles a week all over the country on roads you dont know like she does ? Glasses maybe a solution dont know and i dont think she will kill anybody with her driving she is not bad or erratic but a little fast and too slow to notice all the speed cameras that are blotting the landscape.

I don't think you're going to win this one mate...hehe

I dont have anything helpful to say but hey im gonna say it anyway. Do you read back to yourself what you actually write on here. You admit that your g/f drives too fast and that she is not observant when she is driving and yet you believe that she is a good driver?? What a contradiction of terms that is.

At 3000 miles a week your g/f would have to do 500 miles a day assuming a 6 day week, does she have time to stop and take a break or does she drive around the country testing all the speed cameras out.
