Spotted a talivan behind me today.

Thought I'd follow him to see how he drove, but he was behind me on a 40mph dual carriageway.

Slowed down, but he didn't overtake.

Slowed down a bit more...come on

No...

Slowed down a bit more....come on, come on

Cripes, I'm doing less than 20...

Did he overtake...?

No...

What's wrong with these people...?

Perhaps he was wondering what the hell you were doing, and thinking "No I'm not going to change lanes and pass him, as this guy might be some maniac who matches my pace, and then I end up in a situation which could very likely end up in road rage as he won't let me past, or change back to lane 1."

Probably he had his head stuck where the sun doesn't shine. They can't be very bright to want to do that 'job' anyhow.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Well...yes

You have to be deluded to do a job like that, or is there something I've missed here?

So, you consider this to be the rational behaviour of someone who approaches a slower car on a dual carriageway, with nobody in lane 2?

I'm really having trouble understanding that one....

You just might be right, there...

My guess is that he was being overcautious, in fear of having any mistake photographed or reported. Can't come up with anything else.

Talivan staff and vehicles emit CO2 while serving no good purpose whatsoever.

In one of those vans, I'd imagine they're about as popular as Traffic Wardens, so yes I'd say thats quite rational.

Why did you slow down and deliberately impede another motorist?

Initially up top I said:

It's there if you really look....

Impede..? It was a dual carriageway, just him and me, nobody in lane 2...how can you construe that as impeding?

Strewth...

I've followed only one before, and that was on the M42. That one seemed to be extremely nervous. I was curious about his driving ability. What, exactlty, is wrong with that?

I was about three cars behind the rarer white car with the checkerboard patterns und the blue lights fitted to the roof today.

We are on 40 mph road. He do 40 mph. Ahead ist Gatso. A red light appear in his rear window - telling the drivers behind to slow down. confused

We then see talivan in distance ahead. His red light came on und flashed to same message. confused I am not sure if he flashed the headlamp (which I saw reflected in the bus shelter as COAST drivers note this sort of detail ) to say "Hiya" to the bloke in the van or the oncoming cars

bow scratchchin Perhaps the officer read this site hehe but I wonder if he was being a bit "naughty" to warn the drivers of the talivan like that. I noted that he slowed as well for the camera .. even though he was legal too rolleyes I think ist a habit to slow regardless for the camera. rolleyes

It's not another motorist, it's a taliban. Them or us, clear as mud! I'd like to slow one down to a crawl just so they get my drift that speed kills, or does it, hmmm. It's one way to show how much you hate them without actually getting a NIP.
