Red light cameras
Discussion
On the A20 the other evening my GPS told me there was a redlight camera. I was waiting ages at the lights then when I should have gone through someone stopped in my lane. I was about to miss the lights again so changed to the left lane that had all gone thru and accelerated hard and went across on amber.
I reckon it would probably have turned Red as I was about halfway across, will I get done or are these just for people that go thru when its red?

If you are talking about the Court road or Fiveways ones, no you wouldn't have been done. Apart from the fact that the sensors are by the stop lines for both cameras there is a fair delay before they activate.
Which way were you going and where were you?

I was going into london on the A20 I think it was the first big wait set of lights with a shell petrol station on the left or it might have been the set after that.
That'll be the first set at the Fiveways, the second set has a camera coming out of London.
There's quite a delay on the Fiveways one so you would be OK, I assume it didn't flash anyway.

didn't notice a flash do they always flash like the speed cameras?
Yes, they do flash like (GATSO) speed cameras.
If you didn't notice a flash then you'll be fine. Flashes from those things are *very* noticeable, even in broad daylight.
Walks off muttering obscenities about some GATSOs being set to go off in drivers' faces when they're out of film....
