Reading several threads below is getting me a little worried about being over the alcohal limit the morning after a beer session (And a mate of mine was recently done for 18 months that way).

Could madcop or anyone tell me how accurate the self test things are. I've seen some disposable alcohal level testers in dispensers at service stations, and seen adverts for electronic ones, but how accurate are they ?

I don't normally set off early after a night out, but how early is early - will I be OK by 9:00am - who knows?

Theres a company somewhere that will sell you the same model as the ecilop have.

I'll see if I can find it...

Matt.

Speaking to someone a couple of years back who was involved with the development of such devices, I was under the impression that they were not (at the time anyway) aimed at the public market as it would promote a 'drink-to' limit...

...so what happened? While I can see the point for 'morning after, I feel fine but wonder..', but it scares me that Nova boys may well be using such devices to get the maximum pintage in on a friday night b4 going to do donuts in the seafront car park...

just a thought. CH

I don't think it would work very well for the "drink to" limit cos while you drink there is a delay for the alcohol actually getting into your bloodstream. So testing yourself just after you've finished drinking would be dodgy.

Whereas the morning after would be fine as your blood alcohol level is already on its way down so if it says you're ok by the time plod pull you should be fine.

Andy

PS this won't stop Max Power muppets but then they'll all just get banned which suits me.

That's the bit that worries me, I rarely read instructions on things, I doubt if Max POwer readers would either (unless jordan was pictured next to them... LOL

On topic...

On the side of the packet it says 'intended as a guide only'. Would you really risk an 18 month ban on it's say-so?

Fading slightly...

I just avoid drinking when I have to drive the next day. Tend to leave the mobile off the morning after to avoid temptations as well!

Starts to drift onto drinking in general...

I know it sounds very cautious of me, but I just don't feel right after even a shandy! It's not that I'm a lightweight, I can cover 8 pints very much faster than most my mates. I think it's more the effect on attitude than coordination that scares me.

I tend to get very care-free after virtually nothing, and suddenly really flinging the thing around doesn't seem quite so bad...

Lost the plot...

Mixing drinks is bad news. Mixing them with cars is very silly indeed!
