Does anybody know why my euro 550 goes mad just as you enter the roadworks on M1 just south of nottingham on southbound carriage way or just as you leave on the northbound. I can not see what it is for definite, but i think it may have been this bizzare looking low mounted sign with a thin pole sticking out the top of it? I can see no obvious gatso but the detector goes wild!

There is an extremely strong radar source there.

IIRC there's a radar operated speed warning sign there southbound.. no camera though that we could see when we drove to/from tankersley.

Yep went past it today it's as Carzee said .There is a little warning sign which flashes up 50mph if you are over the top

Warning it is common for the warning sign to be removed and a camera replacing it

Oops, meant to mention this afterwards - sorry Shnozz. Carzee's right, it's a warning signal on the southbound carriageway that sets off the detectors.

If it's any comfort, I use that bit of road every day and have been doing since the roadworks were set up over a month ago.
