So I am heading up i75 again being carefull after getting 2 tickets in two days. I see what could be an unmarked car (same ford the cops use but no markings and heavy tinted windows) in the middle lane sitting on about 80-85mph.

I creep up on him and take a look in, no uniform just some fat dude with a mullet so I pass in the fast lane. Next thing I know hes changed lane and is right up my arse tailgating me about 3 metres behind at 85mph+! I am thinking what an asshole so I pull into the middle lane and let him pass. As he passes I notice a computer screen on the right hand cops have but I can't believe a cop would drive like this! So I follow him and watch as he goes right up behind and tailgates the SUV that was in front of me and follows it about 3metres behind at 85-90mph! To my surprise after a few minutes flashing red and blues come on and theres another unmarked car doing the same thats appeardfrom nowhere in front of the SUV and they pull it over!

I dunno what the hell was going on the cop was speeding and driving like an asshole! Is this what they do over here tailgate you untill you speed up and then pull you or was something else going on?

If there were two cars, then it was likely not a routine traffic stop.

I have been told that they have quite a few unmarked cars here, but have not seen any myself. I have seen someone else pulled in the same spot I was, so its obviously a common place. I have noticed the marked cars being driven like prats though, no where near the standard we have at home.

You mean me or Dan? I am going ( slightly ) slower than I was last week.
I spend most of my time in Traffic, and mostly it is going at or just below the limit, which means whenever I get a clear patch of road there is the temptaion to floor it...

Having seen the way they drive, nothing would surprise me.
Having to deal with them at security gates several times a day, I try and not get on the wrong side of them. They seem to have more power than god, and all carry guns.
Looking forward to coming home!!!

Not really OT but reminded me of a story from a few years ago.

Someone I knew was doing a rally in the US.

On a road section the cars past a local sheriff - at speed!

The sheriff followed them to the petrol station spoke, or tried to, a few that 'turned on' the Scandinavian accent.

Then he come over to a car with a Union Jack painted on the bonnet - " I know you guys speak my language so don't mess me around" or word to that effect! But it was accompanied with a 'large' gun stuck into the car!

Seem to remember that they got a very good 'telling off'!

Just come back into the shipyard.
Security guy must recognise me by now, Iv'e only been in & out 3 or 4 times a day for the last three weeks.......
I show him my shipyard pass, passport, and car pass.
Then he sais the same thing that he sais each time.

" Can you just drive forward 15 feet. I need to take your license plate, then when I wave, you can just back up to the position you are now, and I can give these here documents back to you" ( all in a deep Souther American drawl )

He's too lazy to get off his @@@@ and read the number plate. What really makes me laugh is that it has it stamped on my car pass in LARGE letters. He must recognise the car now, surely he knows that last time the plate was the same.......

I would LOVE to change the plate ( no front plate out here ), BUT these people have a very series lack of understanding of anything remotely funny.
Its not worth my job basicaly.
Nice thought though.
