Been advised to post this in here...
A friend in my village has been arrested for assault on a neigbour( a bit of pushing and shoving)! The orginal date was the 13th of this month to reappear back at the police station .He has now received a letter saying they have moved that to the 29th.The only problem is he is meant to be be abroad for a once a year trade show.He owns and runs the business and as such it is important he attends to meet suppliers he deals with.
Is it possible to change the date due to circumstances?

Advice appreciated....

Cheers

I think if you have a good enough reason I think they can be sympathetic.

Yeah he can ask them to move the bail date on those grounds, but make the requests NOW. Dont leave it till a day before as it wont go down well.

Failiure to return for bail is a seperate offence without reasonable excuse. Pre planned event is not one of those excuses where he could take reasonable steps to either rearange the event or notify the OIC in good time.

Best person to ask if the bailing officer!
