Politics Show BBC1 Speed Cameras
Discussion
Just switched on BBC1 The Politics show. Sunday 12:00 - 13:00
They will be looking at the possible increase in speed cameras and the accuracy of cameras we have now.
Looks like they may be featuring LTI20/20.
It's on Now !
Might have just been BBC1 East ?

Great to have it on YouTube. The AA man's comment was useful, as it reiterates what a government/police spokesperson said a couple of weeks ago -- if the camera is used in accordance with the "guidelines" then it should be ok. So yet again we have a tacit acknowledgement that:
1. some cameras are not used in accordance with the Code of Practice
2. when they're not, they are (more) likely to give invalid readings.
Overall, this does seem like another step towards cutting camera evidence down to size. They are not infallible, and must be used only to corroborate other evidence. Standalone they're no more valid than a single PC's opinion.
