Week One is tell them which end to hold it from.

The second week is showing how to hit someone else rather than themselves.

The ex is training to be a police officer. If it is anything like her it will be one week to figure out how to extend the baton by swiping it through the air and not throwing it on the floor in the process, and the second week would be how to push the baton back from its extended size to normal size without kneeling on the ground and putting all of her weight on it.. rolleyes

Go on the ^Slider^ what's your favourite?

Being boring the standard glazed takes some beating.

Although I do recall a certain motorway caff that used to allow access to the doughnut machine on nights..... allegedly....

Hmmm, thinking way back, even my initial full (totally from scratch!) baton, cuffs and unarmed defensive tactics only took a week to do.

Sounds more like its the full PSU (think: 'riot gear') training. That can take a couple of weeks IIRC if you are starting from scratch.

Annual Baton refresher is only 1 day.

My full PSU training was Monday to friday - for two weeks. Weekends off.

Requal 'baton' training is one day along with speedcuffs and take downs etc etc...

You may laugh but there is a way to hold them, extend them, and more importantly how to use them and which areas to hit for maximum effect. And no, they bruise wherever....

So yes, probably is being told how to hold them and not to hurt himself...

But that doesn't take two weeks, the 'rubber hose pipe' for us old gits was far more intensive. hehe

Why do baton training ..... if it looks dangerous then send a probationer in first - thats what they are for isn't it
