Just travelled through Switzerland, Flashed (4 Flash Camera) Was doing 150kmph (roughly 92/93mph) Think the limit is 120 or 130kmph

Anyone know what will happen?

Didn't have any GB stickers either!

Bad news .. they have just a 3 mph margin across all speed limits

Bad News .. if hired car.. cash will be taken via credit card detail to hire company

Good News.. unless French.. you will not get any points on licence.

Bad News.. if they trace you .. they will not let you back in country unless you pay up your dues.

Swiss motorway .. ist 81.25 mph .. same as German neighbours unless in High Alps in winter when per 70 mph..

You should have GB sticker unless you have some GB marking on car's number plates. I am surprised you were not pulled for this

They will store detail on database. You probably get standard foreign fine on re-entry to country in that car. Swiss usually like to fine on spot if they can. Und on entry und exit of the country for foreigners who get the ping thing.

You will not get points on licence in UK. If Swiss licence .. und well over tolerance.. it attract points. Swiss will always apply points to the French laugh

If you do take the car back to Switzerland, and you are not spotted on entry, they will clamp you even if you are legally parked in a city until you have paid the outstanding fine....

Very regulated, the Swiss...

yes We are very prissy Swissy

I am a rebel though.. hehe

I would just advise to pay the standard rate. No UK points. No need to declare "infringement" und load premium here.

Have to say if "blip"...Swiss do not penalise licence. Only if OTT do they go all "prissy". But fine ist comensurate with speed und if yu are Swiss .. income related too .. but that ist another ranting issue

So let me get this right!

How do I except it?

Do I wait for them to contact me? will they try and contact me in UK? or will I have to wait till I return?

I am in Switzerland for only 1 week then return!

Thanks

When you go back, if they give you stick, tell them you only bought the car on *insert date after flash here* and that you have never taken it to Switzerland before.

Job done.

If some time before you return .. more likely they "write off"

Swiss only have reciprocal point system with France at moment
If you change car.. they never know anyway as data not available

BEWARE!! 120kph is the limit, the new legislation is in force as of 1.1.07
You can see the fines under
www.motards.ch/main.php?page=./misc/radars/tarifs.php
for 25-30kph over on mway expect SFR400,-
for 31-35kph over expect SFR 600,-
for 36-40kph over expect SFR 800,-
41kph over, 20% of your monthly income but minimum SFR 1000,- AND 3 days in PRISON!!!and so on, if they are being their usual racist selves in court (not racist just anti non-swiss!!!).

THEY WILL PERSUE IT!!! so unless you have a car and numberplate you are NEVER going to use in CH again it might get VERY EXPENSIVE!!!

They are getting very twitchy in CH triggerlevels are set VERY LOW (around 3kph over) and are persuing fines of SFR 20,- through german courts...which will obviously be over SFR 2000,- by the time they've finished.

The swiss are nowadays driving (in Switzerland) like meek mice, usually under 110 blocking the outside lane...but in Germany they drive like twunts...either vastly over and two-finges to everybody or playing the rolling police block, and doing tricks like stopping at the end of feederlanes onto the Autobahn!!!

I was living in Lausanne in 2005, drove a UK registered car without any GB stickers & was flashed a few times. I was registered in Lausanne but not the car & I never heard anything. I drove into France & Germany through the various border controls & never paid a penny in fines. Having lived & worked all over Europe I would say that the only country's you cant take the piss in are France, Belgium & the Netherlands as they will confiscate your car on the spot if driving above 100mph or the Km equivalent. Otherwise just let rip..
