Right, seeing as Transport 2000 et al think it's "big and clever" to hide speed cameras etc, would it be an idea to get some white spraypaint and (in fcuk off big letters) spraypaint "SPEED CAMERA AHEAD, SLOW DOWN" on the road about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile ahead of it?

Granted it would be classed as vandalism, however it would probably secure the "common sense" vote as it is alerting drivers to a potential accident spot ahead. And, as we all drive watching the road and not the speedo we would notice it in plenty of time.

If the police or council were seen to then remove this warning, there would be a case for local media to be involved, thereby highlighting the problem of revenue generating cams even more. Granted it won't help against talivans unless they are regularly in a certain place, but I think the ordinary non-lentil-munching motorist would benefit greatly

Well, if the "authorities" by hiding the presence of a danger spot ahead, can't show any responsibility, at least the already milked dry motorist can. Good idea.

I can't imagine you'd ever get a big enough break in the traffic for that........hows about painting 'cash' over the 'safety' on the scamera warning signs

it would be done under the cover of darkness apache!

I'm not advocating jumping out in the middle of the M25 at rush hour (although you probably could do that since the traffic speed is 0.0mph!)

(damn my keyboard and it's 2 and 5 being where they are!!)

They'd just claim it was untidy and not to their specs, erase it then brush the whole debate under the carpet...

...Then quietly proceed to file a 'perverting the course of justice' charge against every motorist, on the grounds that if we don't admit to it they'll just charge us with a worse crime.

Nice one teppic!

The tyre and unleaded sounds good, but surely it should have some soap flakes in so that it sticks to the camera and therefore doesn't damage the surrounding wildlife!
