As the post says, it was on a motorway bridge near Cardiff with the side door open, causing the usual numpty braking carnage. This was on Saturday (only just remembered).

Buisiness as usual then. Saw 2 on one bridge at near the Coldra roundabout yesterday. Suspect one was bringing the chips though. Hardly a day goes by without seeng a scamera on a bridge/side of the road/up trees etc around here.

OK, i'd not seen one on an m-way before, and assumed it was new step in the "safety" scam. Think I backed off in time, mostly because I'm suspicious of anything parked on m-way bridges.

There are some bridges that allow them to "hide" from vision from on comming drivers until you are on them and then its too late. Some are obvious others not. Right about the numpty brakeing though. The scamra west bound M4 as you leave the 50 mph limit is a mare. I have been as slow as 15mph cos everyone is panic braking.

The shame of it all. Scamming on a good road, not a bad one. Outrageous! join the ABD quick.

Just wondering... if angry drivers were to drive up onto the bridge and remonstrate with the operatives / officers for causing danger to drivers down below because of the braking to avoid the camera... not exactly helping safety are they?

If enough people did it, do you think they would have to stop eventually (public pressure, general hassle factor etc)? If enough camera teams got enough sh!t often enough...

There are a few bridges on the M1 (near Leicester services I think) where there are two bridges close to each other. The scamera can park on the second and point up the road, you dont see it until you have passed the first bridge.
Still, they must allow a fair bit of tolerance on motorways becasue I went passed at an indicated 90 and no ticket.
