just coming along the A127 towards romford and am in the outside lane doing "a little" over what i should have been. and am worried. i slammed on the breaks and swerved into the middle lane. It was a white van with 2 dropped screens and what looked like 2 camera out the rear of the van, but i think it said along the side Police interception unit????? How far do they do you from? and what are the laws on doing over 100 just incase,. i slammed on the breaks as soon as i see the van, is that too late? i have no points and have never been done for speeding. gutted! also when will i find out and is there a time period that i will be safe after that?
They have 14 days to serve a Notice of Intended Prosecution, or for PC Plod to come round and issue it to you.
Over 100 is usually a ban, but you may be able to mitigate that if it would casue hardship to others (not yourself though).
Best bet is chill out for 2 weeks, if you get anything, keep all the correspondence including the envelope, and pop over to PePiPoo.com.
NB Have you changes address recently? If this delays the NiP it will still count as being served against you.

Probably no need to worry. If they'd taken exception you'd have been stopped by one of the cars / bikes that will have been lurking nearby.
