I've just been flashed by one of the new Monitron speed cameras so I'm expecting a ticket in the mail any day now. In four years of UK driving this will be my first speeding ticket.

I've seen advertisements from people who guarantee to get you off the ticket. Has anybody had any experience with these? Do they work or are they just another con?

I don't mind paying the fine but the points can be an issue. I also understand that you're supposed to inform your insurance company who will probably increase your policy payments. Does anyone know what happens if you don't inform them?

If the car is registered to you, you have 14days to wait. I know nothing of these companies but I doubt they're much good.

If you dont tell your insurers about points, when you claim they can refuse to pay out.

Maybe visit pepipoo.com ?

If you don't tell your ins co you give them a reason to invalidate the policy, which isn't good. Think there might even be a legal obligation to tell them - someone else will clarify I am sure.
In my experience, most ins cos kind of 'give' you the first 3 points with little / no difference to premium - at least mine didn't. Essnetially, tell them. The cost of doing so (if any) far outweighs the cost of not telling them.

Hopefully nothing will come through and all will be fine

OK, I take your point about telling the insurance company. My problem is I have two cars so I get hit twice as hard!

should have been more careful then

speeding wont usually affect your premium much anyway - but make sure you tell them

good luck

They arent forward facing. They're normally a lot taller than a normal gatso and use sensors in the road to work out you're speeding - not radar.
