There I was, driving along the motorway minding my own business.driving

Next time I look in rear view mirror there is a big white Jag with Police written all over it.

As I pull over to let him pass, he draws alongside my car, and looks at me with an angry expression on his face and shows me how many fingers he has, and I think it was more than two. The charming Policeman then pulls away and continues his journey.

Do you think I might get a NIP for whatever he thinks I was doing wrong, or have I been lucky?
Maybe I will just have to wait 15 days to find out? furious

The incident has rattled me all day.furious

Warned ..... at least it was likely only a 'display of fingers' for speed and he wasn't indicating for you to put your seat belt on

You know what some will say don't you? "If you could pull over to let him pass then why weren't you in the other lane already?"......

Exactly what I thought when I read the post.

So you were busy dreaming away in lane 2/3 when suddenly the cop car appeared.

Hmmm

I was in correct lane, and had to tuck in behind a lorry doing 60mph in middle lane as soon as saw the cop car.

Had my belt on as always, and never drive without it.

Hope you are right about being warned, as it has worked so far.
Thanks.

had something similair many years ago, on the m25 coming down from nw area, been out for a pub meet and had 2-3 pints of coke to try to keep awake on the long drive home. road was fairly deserted and was in lane 2, got full beamed by some dweeb, so gave him the finger.

Pair of blue lights came on and got a nice free car inspection (nothing wrong), blew into some breathalyser, nothing found then they asked if it was beer and explained the coke, got a free escort for 20 miles as they had nothing else to do...

Haha.. angel but no.
Car has no stickers, quite new, and kept quite clean, but has poor visibility in rear window, due to design.

As an aside, I saw on the signage above the M25 a message saying, "please keep to the left, unless you are overtaking" Good stuff

You say he had more than two fingers showing. Perhaps he had three und was trying to tell you something about lanes on the motorway hehe Or maybe about two second rule und a chevron
