I recently bought a car that has been off the road for about 18 months so it has no tax or MOT at the moment, for some reason it was never declared sorn so I need a little advice. I've sent off the V5 document from the previous owner and will be getting it MOT's next weekend, is there anything else I need to do or will the DVLA update the details when I buy the new tax for it?

not come accross this before so cheers for any advice

But not *too* soon or you'll get a letter from dvla saying that you can't declare SORN on a car you're not the registered keeper of...

Do it now online and keep a copy.

Section 2 does cover the fact that docs have been sent to DVLA prior to SORN notification as new owner.
