...than those who opperate them.

That's my view, I regard SCPs and their employees as no better than any other extortion racketeer and those that strive to frustrate them, by whatever means, as heroes.

If I found that an SCP employee drank in my local I'd urge the landlord to bar them, if I heard a rumour that someone had necklaced one I'd buy them a drink.

You?

Yup...and I'd offer to help with the next 'decoration' effort.

I've only ever seen one car with a pro-speed cameras
sticker.

They aren't popular.

I was tempted to leave a little note under the
wiper.

I can imagine the sort of people who approve of speed cameras have very empty and boring lives

That's a pretty small cohort.

It won't be a "Note" I would leave under the wiper....it would be a little "parcel"

Far worse than that. These people are supporting a failed road safety policy that's responsible for failing to save thousands of lives. Absolute scum.

I do hope that in referring to "necklacing" that your'e referring to the camera and not the unfortunate sod operating it. Definitely one ethnic African custom we can do without in our fair and sceptered isle.

Yup.

I don't hold with setting fire to Talivan operators although I'm not entirely sure I could be arsed putting one that was alight out...

I find the whole SCP robocopping edifice odious and want every person they employ to understand how contemptable they are to live as bullies and parasites and to suffer anquish for the evil that they do but I don't want them dead.

Aye, much better to have a loved one mown down by a driver travelling within the speed limit.

The number of people "mown down by speeding drivers" is tiny and entirely independent of the existence or enforcement of speed limits.

...and in any case.

Benjamin Franklin or perhaps Richard Jackson said:
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

There is no good reason why we should all suffer bullying for the sake of a non-solution to a frankly insignificant problem.

Exactly

It's the scammers that scam motorways (and good dual carriagways) that really get my goat. These are as a reaction to accidents that have absolutely nothing to do with exceeding the limit.

Pedestrians on carriageway, lorry accidents, people driving off the road (asleep?) - M6 Cumbria.

Wheel coming off truck, suicide off bridge - M4 Wilts. I'm sure there's many more examples I've missed.

It's a case of an 'It's the law and we'll enforce it cos we can' approach by the scammers. I think Extorsion Racket is an appropriate description.

The underlying law is at fault here, but the fact is that certain individuals choose to make a living out of the exploitation of a bad law. They should be named, shamed and universally shunned by society!

Yup, barred by local shops and pubs, ignored by tradesmen and hissed at in the street.

It should not be possible to work for an SCP and live comfortably.

I've often wondered what I'd do if I happened to be chatting to someone in a pub or the like and found out they were Talivanese.

Providing I could pacify any neanderthal tendencies, I reckon I'd just stop the conversation right there and then and remove myself from the scumbags vicinity.

They're probably briefed not to divulge their occupation. That probably makes them feel special in some way, y'know like they're the MiB or something.
