How would one best go about getting a "do not stop" marker put on ones car on the PNC? Do I need to be suspected of drug traffiking, or are there easier ways?

You have to work for one of the Govt agencies that is entitled to have such a marker ... And be using a private car for work ... As an example C&E NIS operatives used to have this

and it isn't always a do not stop marker, but a police eyes only marker. My other car (which I use for work at times) has such a marker on it. If checked on PNC it comes up with my name and address but with Police Eyes Only across the screen. What this means in practice is that the officer doing the check will not (or should not) be given the info over the radio but should return to the station/control room to check it for himself. However, if he's got a good enough reason to pull me, he will anyway.

Don't bee too sure about that! If you are diving like a loonie, any TrafPol/Motorway grunt will tug you. The PNC check generally comes later. If you are legit, you will have flipped them your ID already. Apparently.

I think I must have one on my car, as was not stopped for doing 95 on the motorway a few weeks ago with BiB following.

I thought they only pull at 92 as indicated by their computerised gubbins so 95 on your dash is probably inaccurate.

I used to have my car "blocked" on the PNC this means the keeper details arent displayed unless the viewer has a higher authority. Did it mean I didnt get stopped?

Er no! It meant the Numpty Durham cops stopped me more often cos they were nosey and wanted to see why it was blocked!

Turns out they couldnt get it done but we(another force) could. Anyway the dvla have clamped down on this recently so Its much harder to get your car blocked!

With the C&E NIS Marker it used to be the case that you didnt have to stop if the BIB tried to make you. Just continue driving until they perform the PNC check ... then the lights would go off and they would peel away ...

Those were the days
