What is the betting that those who cannot be traced have no insurance, tax, mot etc.....
Surely it would be better to concerntrate on tracing these drivers rather than those that simply break the limit?

I particularly like this quote, as it repeats what is regularly said on here
Kevin Delaney former head of the Met's traffic police said:
the figures were evidence of a wider problem that speed cameras can only catch people who are basically law-abiding.
"Any form of remote detection such as speed cameras relies on the information supplied by the public.
"If that is not correct then remote detection immediately falls flat. You need traffic police to catch the problem drivers."

On Radio Wales this morning, Ex met-plod Delaney spouting on that so many people were evading speeding fines because the SCP's didn't have sufficient resources to deal with all of the tickets. Apparently he was amazed that "customers" (yes! he used that exact word.. and then corrected himself) actually had the cheek to query tickets and this was causing such a backlog that they couldn't process all of them. He thought that drivers should just cough up the 60 quid and accept the points.
Well Mr. Delaney... even IF all of the vans were parked so that they were easily visible, and even IF the bloke inside was following the ACPO guidlines to the letter and even IF tickets were issued correctly... we are still going to question everything they send to us... because there's still a chance that our cars could have been cloned or that the machinery could be faulty.... but mainly we'll still do it.... BECAUSE WE CAN!
OK UK drivers.... you know what to do!

And its well worth doing too. I am now 2 for 2 in me vs CPS. 2 Prosecutions, zero conviction for alleged 53 in 40 and 92 in 70
