And some insured drivers too. It looked like thousands of BiB involved.

Actually I think APNR is a better name for this kit than ANPR

ANPR = Automatic Number Plate Recognition

but APNR could = Automatic Plonker Notification to Rozzers.

what do think chaps, should I trade mark it?

I like to hear of this sort of thing.

However, the only time I have seen an ANPR set-up in operation, it was in Mile End in London (home to all those of the demographic who don't like to insure their cars), and they pulled 2 cars in about 35 minutes.

I was *very* disappointed, and seriously wonder whether they were not stopping cars with no insurance as they wouldn't be able to cope with the number of them.

County Council are setting up roadblocks all over the town disguised as Census Points. You'd think that a simplified temporary ANPR system, like the one used for Trafficmaster, would tell them the general route of a vehicle with a lot less frustration and inconvenience for the victims - and allow the BiB thus released to perhaps deter a fake water board official or two.

While I'm all for getting the unisured off the road I still think ANPR is a Bad Thing.

Whilst we are assured that it is not used to log vehicle movements it could be very easily.

Best without it IMO.

This is more or less what was done local to me with a survey re a new road build.

The locals blamed the morning and early evening chaos on through traffic.

Tracking the vehicle numbers showed that through traffic was a very small %, most was caused by vehicles going into the cente, stopping for a while, then leaving centre again most coming back out again on the same route some continuing journey in a different road. Worst congestion was down to school run mums, well there was surprise.
