On the letter from the court, it doesn't state a speed, simply that I was caught speeding on a 50/60/70mph classified road etc.

Is this normal to not have a speed in the court summons?

Whats the back ground then I take it you were expecting
this unpleasent correspondence,
but don't see anything in your profile about being caught?

What did it say on the NIP - that is where I would expect your speed to be, not the summons

The summons won't give the speed - just the offence, which will be exceeding the speed limit.

Ahh that makes sense then. The officer who spoke tome mentioned the speed in the car so I take it that's it.

I take it if they were going to charge you with anything more than just speeding then it would be in the court summons?

Yes it would.

What's the reason for not being offered a FPN? Too high a speed? Or too many points?

It was too high a speed. The policemen in the car were fine with me, no lecture or anything, just straightforward and pleasant.

I wont mention the speed but will reply with the verdict once the case has gone through, I'm expecting the worst and am prepared for that, my boss knows and is ok with it so lets hope it goes smoothly.

Cheers for the replies.
