new speed camera has appeared round my way - on the A259 as you head east into Peacehaven.
its situated in the middle of the road, spotted it as I approached, saw the lens was pointing towards mem and carried on.
came back heading west about an hour later, remembered the camera and checked my speed, spotted the camera - the lens was pointing towards me
Kept well below the speed limit as I went past, checked my mirror and I could see another lens
A double camera????
Would one side be a dummy????
Apparently one side is a dummy. They have a similar camera or two in Hastings.
If you look at standard GATSOs they actually point down slightly on the side where the camera lens is.
On the double dided ones you'll notice they also point down one side. So the camera is facing the way of the slant. The eye on the other side is apparently a fake.
Incidentially I still play safe just in case! See the Speedtrap Bible for more information

Re the camera in Bournemouth between Cooper Dean and the Railway Station, one points each way, they never point the same way, so if you go past the first, and it's angled down slightly but pointing in your direction of travel, thats the one to watch, not the other one. Vice versa though, so if the first one isn't going your way, the second one will.
I know what I mean.......!

They have been known to spin them around the other way, but these have been only rare occasions. For those of you without radar detectors, the camera at the Cooper Dean end is 100% active, but the one near Springbourne is only80% or so.
Have any of you Bournemouth guys played the "how fast can I get up to between the two cameras" game? It was quite an entertaining passtime in our office until the Boss bought an M3 and trumped us all...

got to think of a good excuse for Mrs M, if a NIP comes through as I was in her car at the time.
