Howdy,
Eldest daughter is home on leave for the weekend, and I was thinking of giving her a few driving lessons in the Jag. She has a provisional and we have got some L Plates.

Now do I have to have her as a named driver on our Insurance or will we be already covered for an accompanied learner?

If you were to stop an accompanied learner what is the criteria?

I can't remember if my old man had to arrange any special cover for me when I was learning.

Cheers,
Cooky

She will need to be a named driver.
I expect it will cost, though not a lot hopefully.

well it's the Jag or the Cerbera, and the only time she touches the TiV is to clean it hehe

Seriously though, if yer gonna learn whats better than a big old comfy Jag? She has driven before when we were in France.

I should just have her named for a day, or weekend.
We do that with our daughter occasionally and it costs zilch.
Admittedly she has a full licence, but I cannot believe it would be prohibitive for a learner for a day or 2. Mind you we do not have a Jag. It must be worth a phone call to find out I would have thought.

A UK resident is not allowed to drive in France on a UK provisional licence.... You must

1) Be over 18 and
2) Have a valid full licence for the type of vehicle driven.

Unless its changed since I last looked in '03.

Hope is a good thing, but prob in vain here CP. Insurance co's do not like young and learners and they def do not like short insurances!

I reckon that to get a female teenage learner insured it costs 1200 pa and a male 1600 pa.

Bert [now onto #2 learner, male, ouch]
